Personal Story
Having come from a family of artists it was inevitable that I would be creative in some way. My artistic abilities didn't show themselves until I was about 7 when I used to spend a lot of time drawing or playing with Fimo modelling clay because I suffered with asthma and didn't get out as much as other children. When I began at secondary school I realised that Art was my strongest subject and decided that, somehow, I would be an artist when I left school. I didn't give this idea any practical thought until I had graduated from University with my degree. Having received little career advice on my degree course I was a bit aimless when I left and needed to pay the rent, so I ended up working in various retail and administrative jobs. It was only after my boyfriend proposed to me and we got married that I decided to try and achieve my artistic ambitions. However, I was also, very happily, pregnant and just managed to squeeze in my first exhibition at the Jelly Legged Chicken Gallery in March before Lewis was born in June 2002. He is now an enthusiastic 3 year old! Since then I have been able to produce more artwork part-time and have started to expand into the print market. On 1st June 2005 our second son Dominic was born and things have been very busy ever since! If it wasn't for my husband and my family's relentless encouragement I probably would not have sold my first painting, and this is definitely the best job in the world, so "Thank You !"
